BOCAHITA and BUDDHA BUBBA

"A VOYAGE IS A PIECE OF AUTOBIOGRAPHY AT BEST"    THE CEVENNES JOURNAL

After sweating through the Primary Presidential race in Florida- whew- Bocahita, Buddha Bubba and Pleep are ready for some enlightenment and fun-or as Paul Theroux claims in The Tao of Travel- "enlightenment's from lives on the road".   Or as Bubs points out,  is it more like Ralph Waldo Emerson,       " traveling is a fool's paradise."

Bocahita had the pleasure of meeting Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo last month at FAU where she is taking a Meditation class and reading Jetsunma's books- "INTO THE HEART OF LIFE" and" REFLECTIONS ON A MOUNTAIN LAKE".  Bocahita queried the fine nun as to when she was going to find that inner peace stuff?  As a matter of fact, the kind and lovely Buddhist nun invited Boca to visit her at her nunnery while in India- just down the road from the Dali Lama.  So close but yet still so far- will Boca be able to squeeze a side visit in?

Buddah Bubba and Pleepita find bliss in their new found love of Yoga...

Are we tourist or traveler?  If it's based on how many flashlights one carries then Bubba is in......

Pleep is insisting on taking some camel saddle bags.  Moi?  2 sacks of make up.  What are your must take necessaries for  your travels?  Anybody for some snake bite serum?  Bubba is worried I will yet again exceed the airline luggage weight limit and as I have pointed out YET AGAIN "Bubs, few qualities are as mistakenly overrated as being an efficient packer.  Frankly, I'd rather have good hair."

Are we in pursuit of some goal?    Well kinda sorta maybe, I get to join the TCC (Traveler's Century Club- visit 100 plus countries) and won't have to be a tag a long under Bubba's membership (120) of which he could care less about being a member-average age being 87.  While we won't be climbing Mt. Everest -we look forward to the blessing and privilege of experiencing new places and people.  Amen!

Of particular interest is learning more about the various religions and philosophy's of the region.  I had the opportunity to lunch with Father David from the Orthodox Christian Mission Center last week.  He shared the work of a Russian Orthodox Priest in Mongolia.  What made the situation and his work unique was that the Buddhist Monks have opened their arms to the Orthodox Priest and beliefs.  How can that be Father David?  My understanding is this Priest has embraced the culture and history of their historic beliefs-Buddhism- while sharing the Orthodox way as well.  Father also invited Buddha Bubs and Bocahita to join him on the first OCMC Missionary trip to Mongolia later this year.  Hey, Bubs are you up for it?   Pleep always had a fascination with Genghis Khan and envisioned his own Genghis sword and horse.  Mongolia?  Well, it's certainly a thought.

Pleep can't wait for a Mickey D Buddha Burger....per the Pleepita:

A monk was driving in India when suddenly a dog crosses the road. The car hit and killed the dog. The monk looked around and seeing a temple, went to knock on the door. A monk opened the door. The first monk said: "I'm terribly sorry, but my karma ran over your dogma."

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhh Pleep!
